Now to continue our Rihanna Base Thread rate of her flawless discography are numbers 40-36!
40. "Pon de Replay"
(from Music of the Sun)
Average: 7.98485
Highest: 10 (Babe.), Lowest: 6.5 (zzmyth)
The first of the top 40 to go is Rihanna's debut single, the song that started it all back in May of 2005: "Pon de Replay". Every Rihanna stan knows the line "Come Mr. DJ, song pon de replay!", and we as a collective group always refer back to this top 3 summer jam as the single that started the never-ending snowball effect of Rihanna's career. Who knew this innocent, virginal girl singing about dancing at her high school homecoming would become such a ****? I mean I did, tbh. But did y'all?
39. "The Last Song"
(from Rated R)
Average: 8
Highest: 10 (CaliQueenSelena, GN4L, I'mRihannaFan, infinite-desire, ViTiLiGO), Lowest: 0 (genetic fail)
I'm seriously doubting the Navy's taste with "The Last Song" at #39. While this aptly-titled closer to 2009's Rated R may be superseded in every possible way by the virtually-flawless "Cold Case Love", "The Last Song" is a gorgeous R&B ballad in every sense of the term. The emotion is dripping from this song with every line, and it's undeniably one of the deepest records to be found on her best album to date. How dare you mother****ers (and yes, genetic FAIL, I'm looking at you).
38. "Good Girl Gone Bad"
(from Good Girl Gone Bad)
Average: 8.01471
Highest: 10 (Katie, rihannafan, TheOnlyOne), Lowest: 5 (dcode78)
So generic, so stupid. Like are y'all really putting this above "The Last Song"?
37. "Cockiness (Love It)"
(from Talk That Talk)
Average: 8.01471
Highest: 10 (dcode78, dreamloverfantasy, I'mRihannaFan, MrFenty, TheOnlyOne, Vato), Lowest: 5 (SLAYANNA NAVY)
This song is pure sex wrapped up in the most pompous condom wrapper you could find. The production is top-notch, Rihanna rides the production effortlessly, and I get chills from the pure badassness that this song exudes. And let's not even start on the bridge - I mean, Rihanna actually spits!
36. "Who's That Chick?"
(David Guetta featuring Rihanna; from One More Love)
Average: 8.04545
Highest: 10 (DOMINO, genetic fail, iHeartRihanna, Katie), Lowest: 5 (Vato)
It's cute, the production is fun, and it's catchy. But there's really nothing else to this song, so I can't exactly say that I'm sad to see it go. *Shrug*

Next up, numbers 35-31!
35. "G4L"
(from Rated R)
Average: 8.20588
Highest: 10 (GN4L, infinite-desire, ViTiLiGO), Lowest: 2 (Vato)
This is the Navy's anthem, so I'm a bit disappointed that the ATRL Navy would be responsible for such a mediocre position. The gritty production, eerie vocal technique, and edgy lyrics all employed on this song create such a dynamic product that it's difficult for me to understand why "G4L" landed at the #35 spot. Oh well.
34. "Cry"
(from [I]Good Girl Gone Bad/I])
Average: 8.25
Highest: 10 (iHeartRihanna, MrFenty, rihannafan), Lowest: 5 (dcode78)
Rihanna didn't start releasing great ballads until Rated R came around, but she had a few on her first three albums that were of good quality - "Unfaithful", "Take a Bow", and our #34 track, "Cry". While "Cry" was completely snubbed by Rihanna and Def Jam when it came to Good Girl Gone Bad's tracklisting (a Japanese bonus track? Really?), it's still a gorgeous song, and one that definitely set the stage for Rihanna's later tear-jerkers.
33. "Te Amo"
(from Rated R)
Average: 8.26471
Highest: 10 (HumanitySector, JungleDisturbia, KoreanDream, rihannafan, SLAYANNA NAVY), Lowest: 5 (TheOnlyOne)
Now y'all are some crazy-ass bitches for this one. When I did my own rate, I gave out 10's sparingly, and "Te Amo" most definitely deserved one of those few 10's. The song is absolutely gorgeous in every sense of the word. From the pulsing Caribbean beat to the heartbreak lingering in every lyric, "Te Amo" does an excellent job of illustrating exactly what love can feel like when love reaches its limit.
32. "Do Ya Thang"
(from Talk That Talk)
Average: 8.26471
Highest: 10 (CaliQueenSelena, genetic fail, iHeartRihanna, ImARudeBoy, Roxie, SLAYANNA NAVY), Lowest: 3 (DOMINO)
"Do Ya Thang" - a bonus track on the deluxe edition of Rihanna's latest effort, 2011's Talk That Talk - has to be the most-overrated song of Rihanna's discography among the ATRL Navy. The song is so basic that it really isn't even funny. The production is basic, the lyrics are basic, Rihanna's vocals are basic, and I literally don't see how this deserved anything above a 7. Such mediocrity.
31. "Drunk on Love"
(From Talk That Talk)
Average: 8.30882
Highest: 10 (I'mRihannaFan, Jaymz, Panthera/Primeval, rihannafan, S.J., TheOnlyOne), Lowest: 5.5 (HumanitySector)
This song is absolutely everything. On an album filled with **** anthems - which, don't get me wrong, is not a bad thing - "Drunk on Love" stands out as the album's emotional hark back to the Rated R days. As we all know, Rihanna has been single for about a year and a 1/2 now, and she absolutely detests the single life - which, in my opinion, can really suck. Especially if you're dying to be in a relationship. "Drunk on Love" - with its haunting xx sample, stunning vocal application (Rihanna actually sounds drunk on the song, which is quite intriguing), and beautiful lyrics - completely encapsulates everything that a lonely soul can feel, desperation and all. Gorgeous.

Speaking of "Who's That Chick", why have I been falling back in love with it?
I always hear it at this gay club I go to.

GeneticFail has like the worst taste ever. Like seriously. How can you give "The Last Prayer" a zero?

The fact that it's so low on this list says alot about our fanbase's taste. I can already foresee her ******, overrated songs topping the list.

This is true. I wouldn't be surprised if the top 10 is full of songs from Loud.

I only use the remixes of WTC. The original is so generic and plain. One of her weakest collaborations.

It will be. And her **** anthems. Ugh, I wish people weren't so predictable with their taste.

You aren't here for it? I overrated the living **** out of it when it was released, ended up disliking it after awhile, but I love it again. It's cute, fun song. I'm still surprised and pissed that it wasn't included on Loud. It fits the overall sound so perfectly.

LOL at three of her best songs barely missing out on the top 30.
I seriously cringe at the thought of what the top 3 will look like.
