Sure, you can argue the album's success but that was running off of the hype. Most of her singles underperformed which gives a better indication of the public's response.
I'm glad the hype was enough to keep the album going for 1 year.

she's talented as a singer/writer
she's too serious about pop and needs to lighten up
she goes too far with the outfits and imagery..which just overshadows her music

Every artist has Peaks and such. Gaga peaked with TFM, almost anything from now on will be lower or mild compared to what she's already experienced. And she's done it in a much faster time than many others.
