I think that lana's voice is one dimensional and her tone can be too heavy and deep sometimes. katy's tone is prettier and she has a much larger range and can do much more with her voice. she proved that with her first album.
Katy is not. Her lyrics are basic, childish and sound like they were written by a 13-year-old. Any attempt at emotion or sophistication falls flat on it's auto-tuned face.
Vocal wise, Lana is not the best but she has a distinct tone and uses her voice well. Katy lives and dies on auto-tune.
