but she shouldnt have dragged carly like that, i think it was rude. if she thinks her discography is the treasure at the end of the rainbow then go! but you dont have to trash other people just to make your music look good. if everything is "beautiful" and "pleasant to the ears" kind of music and we wouldnt have diversity in this world now,would we? just my point.

Oh I agree then, that's what I was kinda saying but from a diff angle. Radio does need a change though. They are very wild, they can just do as they please. Something needs to change.

They really do!! I was surprised at the Brit snub...TTWE is a tune! They snubbed Madonna as well...really weird. WTF is up with them, I have no idea. They can play allsorts but some of the songs are trash.

She said the music industry is dying too it's not just hating on radio which is fine, she's hating on everything

+1. This is probably the only global reach Carly will get, let her have her chance. La Roux can always come back big, Carly not so much. Before this song, she was not big in Canada itself.

These rantings on Twitter aren't promo for her sophomore album. If anything, they could get her blacklisted from the radio.

It was totally rude and unprofessional of her to single out "Call Me Maybe." She could have stated how she felt without doing that. That's my main issue. She should really stop responding to fans on Twitter and delete that tweet altogether.
However, a few folks in here do the same (or even worse) to artists in SYG and other threads, so I don't know why they get that riled up when a music artist does it.

This is not the right way to come forward with her opinions. What kind of arrogant person...
After all, music is developing based on what has demand. It's her problem, if she can't cater to the public. Seems like a pretty bittersweet remark coming from her.

What she said wasn't even that bad.
""Call me maybe" is that a lyric?? I can't tell who anyone on the radio Is anymore its just noise. Sorry but where has all the music gone?"
All she said was that all music sounds the same these days (which we've all said before, and quite a few artists have as well), and that Call Me Maybe is a stupid lyric (which it kind of is)
Meanwhile people are in here acting like Elly just nailed Carly to the cross

I don't see what's wrong with "Call Me Maybe". Pop music doesn't need to be "ExPeRiMenTaL!!!!!" or innovative at all, all the time. Everyone wants be elitist when it comes to pop, but some of my favorite songs are those simple, well-crafted pop songs, that just make you feel happy. Nothing deep, or insightful in them all.

The thing is the more she trashes the industry the less support and respect she will get from people. I understand her opinion but I feel as though her music speaks for itself and she shouldn't have to put other artists down by naming them specifically to make her music look more credible. She could have just said she hates that kind of music, she didn't have to start naming people it just creates unwanted media attention, taking the focus from her music.
