I agree. I think artists in general should always release lots of remixes. Like dance remixes from different producers, a rap remix, and an acoustic version aswell. Would boost sales so much, and make it much more exciting whenever your favourite song gets released as a single, if you knew you were going to get like 10 new versions of it.

And it would give the artists lots of different tracks to use for performances, and it would get it more radio airplay aswell. Like you could send the rap remix to urban radio, the acoustic version to adult contemporary, a dance remix of pop radio, and so on. That's what some artists like Mariah Carey, etc. used to do sometimes.

But it shouldn't though. It's not the same as Katy releasing last minute remixes.

When labels sends a song to radio, most of the time meaning that they are promoting it as a new single, they should release a bunch of dance remixes on an EP at the same time and send it to the stations as well. I'm not sure but I think they do this already in the US (send remixes to radio stations) when they give the station the single CDS. It will help sales and also the chart life of some songs as it will help people to buy the song even though they already have it on the album. In the UK on the release/impact date of a song they usually release like a 6 track remix EP which costs £1.99. Bargain.

I know. It's so annoying. And the thing is, that sort of thing was completely normal in the past.

And practically every RnB/hip hop song has a remix featuring a rapper. But it's only the pop girls that get criticized when they do it. I think nobody should get criticized.

And some people criticize others for having remixes, when they don't realize their own artists do the same. There's remixes of Marry the Night, one ft. Afrojack, and one ft. The Weeknd, for example.

Maroon 5 have really used "The Voice" to their advantage. "Moves Like Jagger" last year and "PayPhone" this year, both performed on the Live Shows and risen quickly yo the top. PayPhone isn't at the same quality as Jagger, but it's a good 1st single that will receive great airplay.

Glad to see "Boyfriend" holding up. It didn't crash and tumble like his previous releases
