Bionic was anything but a risky album.

I mean, if someone gives a Bionic track more risky than How I Row, Inside Out or even HIAM I'll shut my mouth. Just ONE.

The only risky track I can think of on Bionic is Elastic Love purely because it was written by M.I.A. and clearly inspired by M.I.A.'s sound/style.

Both are not even close to be risky

FF was maybe the most commercially perfect album of last year. Bionic... It's full of normal Electro-Pop songs.

The risk is that she invested so much into it, that if you didn't like it, you were alienated completely. Femme Fatale had catchy songs that didn't do much to alienate anyone.

Femme Fatale is better than Bionic, but it's not risky,

Not for Christina. Back to Basics was a very risky album. She used hip hop producer DJ Premier for a lot of the songs and it was pretty much an album full of 1920s-1950s jazz/blues soul music.

Instead of promoting the album, she was shading Gaga and it backfired.

I agree, FF was a safe album for Britney but Its not that bad its just that, everybody else is doing it/

Stripped, Back To Basics and Bionic were all risky in their own right. Stripped was her I'm-grown-and-I-don't-give-a-****-what-people-think album, which is always risky for a young female artist. Back To Basics was something that nobody was doing at the time. While Bionic was a blend of Madonna, Gaga and underground hipster artists, many of the tracks (with the exception of the ****** generic songs like "Vanity", "Not Myself Tonight", "Glam", etc) were unlike anything else on the radio at the time. I think that people would respect and appreciate Bionic more had she released an album full of songs like "Bionic", "Elastic Love", "Monday Morning", "Birds Of Prey" and "Little Dreamer".

And that's the thing: if she had made an entire album with those underground producers, then yes it would be a risky album. But she did the exact opposite: called generic producers, made generic songs, released the generic songs as singles, and then put the experimental tracks on the end of the album or in the bonus-tracks. It wasn't a cohesive album.

Making a risk= Taking music to a new frontier.

Christina didn't create something new with Bionic, neither Britney with Femme Fatale.

Femme Fatale was Britney being fun, candid and commercial while Bionic was Christina trying hard fitting in the new scene after being absent for many years making outdated music that eventually flopped.

That's just the way it is.
