What Makes You Beautiful gaining on airplay, rocketing in sales, and they're finding a Bieber-like fandom that The Wanted will never see here. Yes yes BUT till WMYB doesn't go to #3 at least on Hot 100, it won't be more sucessful. Don't think WMYB will be bigger radio hit than GYC

Well said. GYC will for sure be more successful overall. Airplay is astronomical (about to go 140 mil AI overall and 100 mil AI on pop). It's #1 on Top 40, and almost top 10 on Hot AC (should be top 5 when all's said and done). Crossing over to Rhythmic as well. I can't imagine WMYB pulling those stats. GYC is and will end up being the bigger multi-format smash.

Sales are very strong as well. It's about to go 2x platinum in 2 weeks, and still selling consistently in the 150k-200k range. Should have no problem going 3x platinum. Sales will probably end up being a draw, but GYC has a huge edge on airplay.

I'd say if a song sells more copies, sells more albums, generates more hype, and inspires more fans it's more successful than a song that did none of those things, but had more airplay. It's not like WMYB isn't performing well on the radio.

WMYB is selling almost twice as many copies per week now, and it's seeing the fabled 300K sales numbers.
