I think this post generally goes in the right direction. I really doubt Nicki is sitting at home right know flicking through Gaga editorials to see what she can do next.

However, what I do think is the sheer success Gaga had being "Gaga" broke a barrier, and created an opportunity for artists to express themselves outrageously all the time and still be accepted by the mainstream. She pioneered that movement that is now so common in modern pop.

Switch back to the early 2000s and you would have never seen this kind of behavior/wardrobe. It doesn't mean that every artist who sports a blue wig and a ridiculous outfit is copying Gaga, they are just simply adapting what she did and personalizing it to fit their own image.

Harajuku's been out for years, sis. She's been calling herself Harajuku Barbie since she came out in the game. In terms of comparisons on the clothes they wear, she's more suited to be compared with Gwen Stefani imo.

I feel like you're just comparing her to Gaga simply because of their OUTRAGEOUS outfits. Outrageous, but in the end, they differ in style. Nicki's going for Harajuku while Gaga's going for that Vogue/fashion look. Perhaps Nicki may have been inspired to wear more outrageous/crazy outfits because of Gaga, but 95% of the artists in the industry have one way or another, been impacted as well.
