I think the problem with Judas in the US was the lyrical content.
The whole big problem is the US. If we're talking about catchy pop hits there are no problems but a different sound or controversial lyrics screw all up there. I always thought it's a too much conservative country

What's the worst, the song just used a religious metaphor to show Gaga loves a "bad boy". It was not blasphemous at all. They just hear the name Judas and think she is mocking the religion.
