None of this mess would exist if Rihanna didn't bite off more than she could chew with a new album. Def Jam wanted a re-release, but Rihanna insisted on a new album. I can see why she wanted to go back to her 'gangsta' music (Loud was obviously Def Jam's idea), but she really should have just done the re-release, or at least an EP, like The Fame Monster. I do also like that Rihanna is in charge of her career enough to choose if she's doing an album or a re-release, but this was the wrong decision.
Especially with the Battleship release, she could have been an elegant princess at the premiere if the Loud era was still going, but now she's a 'hood geisha'.
