Are you reading the reviews? Each review is quite long and points out the pros and cons. They're not just giving the album score and moving. They actually explain themselves.

No they're not, they just all agree on many things. There are different people review, it's not just one person saying the same thing over and over.

No, she tried balancing the generic side with a hardcore side. That made the album messy and in-cohesive. The album is in no way "too safe"
