So, I just listened to the whole album twice. I feel like I'm ready to review each track one by one. So here goes.
1. Roman Holiday - 9/10
Amazing rapping, the first verse especially is one of her best all time. The chorus is different, but still catchy. It loses one point for the "O Come All Ye Faithful" part. Not only is it... unsettling, it's downright annoying. Other than that, amazing song.
2. Come On A Cone - 7.5/10
Again, amazing rapping. The chorus is a little too Romanish, she could've toned it down a little bit. And the "dick in yo face" is stupid.
3. I Am Your Leader - 8.5/10
Amazing rapping. Rick Ross WASN'T annoying and Cam'ron BROUGHT his A game! Lame chorus again though.
4. Beez In The Trap - 10/10
NICKI! OMG! YES! And 2 Chainz slayed too! Fantastic! And I LOVE when people give shout outs to random cities so the end of this song is just heaven to me.
5. HOV Lane - 100000000/10
HOLY ****! I NEVER EVER EVER EVER AOESIHAOIHALGAIOEGHAOGIHOAIPGHIOAHEGOAIHGAG
Like, there's nothing to say. My words cannot describe. This is already one of my top 3 Nicki songs of all time and COULD jus tbe #1. I cannot comprehend anyone giving this song anything less than a 10/10.
6. Roman Reloaded - 10/10
I've always loved this song. Nicki goes in, Wayne goes in, nothing more to say.
7. Champion - 8/10
I LOVE Nicki's emotional songs, and I LOVE Drake. And Nas was great of course. Unfortunately, this song loses two points because Jeezy sounds like he's ****ing dying of cancer. I'm gonna have to edit him out somehow.
8. Right By My Side - 10/10
I've never heard a singing voice as beautiful as this. Seriously. I love it. Beautiful. And the rapping at the end is just the icing on the cake.
9. Sex In The Lounge - 6/10
It's not THAT bad. But it's not that good either. Nicki's raps are just good (not excellent as they usually are) and Bobby V is average. Then Lil Wayne comes in... blech.
10. Starships - 11/10
Still love this song. It makes me scream "LET'S GO THE BEACH" everytime I hear it.
11. Pound The Alarm - 10/10
HOLY YES! NICKI! YES! Only complaint is there's only one verse of rap
I would've liked two. Oh well.
12. Whip It - 10/10
I love Nicki's pop/dance/rap songs.
13. Automatic - 9/10
Minus two points for not having enough rap. The random Einstein bit is my fav. Plus one point for the cities shout outs!
14. Beautiful Sinner - 10/10
NICKI! I have never heard such an amazing dance ballad in my life! And the beginning! More cities! YES! LOVE IT!
15. Marilyn Monroe - 7/10
It's a beautiful song. I like it. But Young Forever does it better. And minus two points for no rapping.
16. Young Forever - 8/10
Amazing song. So emotional. Minus two points for no rapping.
17. Fire Burns - 8/10
I LOVEEEEEEE this song. Don't get all the hate for it. BUT! Minus two points for no rap.
18. Gun Shot - 8/10
I love the instrumental. Don't know what they're saying, but I like it. Have a feeling it will be a grower.
19. Stupid Hoe - 6/10
Does NOT fit with the album. I hate the chorus. Don't like how she reused the "ice my wristes" 8 lines twice. HATE the end, had to cut it off at 3 minutes even. With all that sad, I still love her rapping.
20. Turn Me On - 10/10
This will always be the "original" Nicki dance song for me. And David Guetta is seriously amazing. And those five lines of rap at the end... PERFECTION.
21. Va Va Voom - 10/10
I'm conflicted. On one hand, it's slower and not as catchy as Super Bass. On the other hand, I KNOW it will be a grower, and I DO love it. Need to listen to it more.
22. Masquerade - 11/10
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSGIHOAIGHAOIHGSAG NICKI! I was so worried I wouldn't get a "Fly" on this album, and Nicki made me wait til the very end of the album, but this was worth it. BEAUTIFUL SONG!
All in all, I was VERY worried when I heard that there were some songs that didn't have any rapping. However, Nicki really was able to satisfy both her rap fans and pop fans. I am in love with this album. And I'm so glad there are 22 songs, it really does feel like a double disc album.
And I got everything I wanted: A Roman's Revenge esque song, a Monster esque song (HOV Lane is that good in my opinion), a Super Bass esque song and a Fly esque song.
OVERALL: 9.5/10
