I don't consider Rihanna to be the most talented girls out of the bunch and to me that's completely redundant as long as her music continues to entertain me. I will say that there aren't many female singers out there who can adapt to so many genres of music and be successful at it.

You have to be completely blind or just stubborn to say the chick hasn't improved drastically since her debut. She may not be up to the standards of hanging herself on stage or on the level of Beyonce, but she entertains. That's exactly what's wrong though. People are so busy comparing the bitch to her contemporaries that they don't just take her for what she is as an individual. I don't expect her to to be GaGa, Beyonce, Whitney, Mariah, Madonna, or Janet. Rihanna is Rihanna, minimally talented or not, the bitch makes it work for her or she wouldn't be one of the most successful artists in recent music history.

These threads are pointless though. It just gives her haters an open opportunity to bash her even more and never results in swaying anyone's opinion on her.

She has talent and I think people do way too much when they say she doesn't. She's a tad incosistent as a vocalist, and I understand that, but to say she can't sing and she doesn't have talent is a little unfair.

I guess it is because her stans always bring up chart performance. Sales. Number one peaks. They practically never say that she has "good material". I mean whenever they have to defend a single of hers, it's always sales that they quote repeatedly.

It's not just one bad performance . Rihanna has been in this industry for about 7 years and out of those 7 years she only has about two handfull of good performances.

Even though Britney didn't sing live, she danced her ass, she gave you your money worth. Rihanna doesn't even dance most of the time, so it's not hard to understand why most ppl would expect her to stay on key when she's performing- something she rarely does.

This. I love her, but I need her to be good all the time. If she isn't people are coming for her...I just wish she'd put more life and feeling into the performances. But she certainly has talent, but at her level, there is no room for error. When was the last time Bey messed up? Must have been 2003/2004 at the EMAs with the playback issue. And the most recent one is the iconic stage fall.

Also, she is 100% in charge of the creative and art direction, vision, and production behind her albums and tours - and whether people like to accept it or not - that demonstrates both talent and involvement.

But of course, some people who dislike her will simply not admit that she has talent, but it honestly doesn't matter to me. They only make themselves look like fools considering the above.
