One bad performance means that she is talentless, huh? You people are forgetting that she is one of the most working hard person in the business. She can sound tired sometimes. Some people sounds worse than that even thoug they lip-sync most of their performances.
If one bad performance means they talentless then what do you call your fave?
Everybody has bad performances. That doesn't mean they are talentless cuz they also has good performances and you can't ignore the good performances just because there are bad performances.
I expected a lot more from her since she's an island girl. WMN? Grammy Performance is the only performance I know where she brought the Caribbean influence hard.
But people don't have to call them talentless(or ugly) just because they don't like them. They should give some respect to the artist and the people who like the artist.

Rihanna is not talentless. She can sing well, she does though, like most popstars nowadays, lack consistency. Also, lately, her performances have been sub-par, probably due to the fact that she overworks and that she has been smoking. But nonetheless, she is talented. I also think she is a great songwriter as proven on Rated R.
WFL talent doesnt mean only perfomance skills.And I didn't shade Rihanna i love her,but this how people are seeing her.Britney have done iconic perfomances ,which why she has a lot of praise - Rihanna hasn't and she is on her sixth album.And Brit doesn't give a ****, how she sings (lipsynching mostly) and dance,which is sad but you probably know all her problems.I know that Rihanna is tired ,but this doesn't mean she has kids,lawsuits and mental illnesses.If she rest more she will be ok.But it's fact she is not a good perfomer..Well,atleast she has to prove it!
She is a ballad singer, but she has large amounts of talent. In fact, her voice has grown MILES since "Pon De Replay" Plus, her unique tone and star quality make her who she is.

But most of Rihanna's performances are sub-standard or average at best. The ones you cherry-picked are the rare ones where she stayed on-pitch (and even then IMO, many of them are completely overrated).
I think the issue people have with Rihanna is that she has no distinct talent. Since you brought up Britney, let's use her; she used to be a better singer than nowadays but she too was never great. However, from an early age she built up a reputation as one of the leading dancer/performer/entertainers etc. That's what truly set her apart.
But Rihanna? There are millions of better singers than her, most of her performances just consist of her lazily walking round the stage while letting the backing track take most of the work, and she contributes barely anything to the creative process of her music. It's her image and other people's talents that sell her records more than anything, and that's what people have a problem with.
I think people call her untalented because she doesn't sound good most of the time and she has minimal input in her career.

Well, If you aren't satisfied with any of her performances that she gave yet I can't say anything to you. I understand you, Rihanna has good vocal performances but none of them are iconic. But she's getting better and the last Grammy performance was a good example. If she keeps working on I'm sure she can give an iconic performance like Brit did a few years ago.
People who legitimately think she has absolutely no talent are either deluded, hate her regardless of what she does, or are just ignorant/ unaware of her good performances.
