Listening to Gun Shot today made me think of the days when Nicki was still on Usher features or when she released Massive Attack, of the days when she was still prepping Pink Friday and trying to get her name out there, of the days when her songs cost 99 cents on iTunes instead of $1.29, of the days when she got her first top 20 hit, of the day Pink Friday was released, etc. She's come so far in so little time.

Automatic is good. Generic, but good. But there's just not enough rapping. Take off songs like the 4 I recommended and replace 'em with hip-pop songs with real verses like the bonus tracks of PF, and I bet the reviews would be much different.
YF is a bit cheesy, but it's cute as ****. And it's much better than that "Must be how Marilyyn Monroooe felt, felt, felt, felt, feeeeeelt!". I swear every time Nicki sings that, I think "Nicki, shut up. " Without that Marilyn mess, I'd probably like it much more.
YF is basically perfect though, even with the bit of cheese. It's perfect.
I used to think that we’d run away
Whenever, pretty summer day
I remember when you would say
“We'd be OK, come what may”
I never knew you would lie to me
Took everything from inside of me
Your silhouette in the doorway
But before you walk away
Just say goodbye, look in my eyes
So that I always will remember
Frozen in time, always be mine
Baby boy you’ll be young forever
I’ll be over here, you’ll be over there
I’ma shed a tear but I really don’t care
Frozen in time, always be mine
Baby boy you’ll be young forever

Young Forever is just a cheesy mess.
I do think that the reception would be more positive if she had done some hip-pop songs instead of pure Europop songs, though.

It reminds me of when she was getting all excited talking to MTV because Mariah and Robin Thicke wanted to collaborate with her.

BTW, I'm kind of starting to get into Sex in the Lounge. It would be so much better without Lil' Wayne, though.

I remember hearing Your Love for the first time in May of 2010 and playing it around my friends, none of whom had any idea who she was. My best friend and I were the only people who knew who Nicki was on campus, or at least it seemed that way. Now she's a phenomenon.

Lil Wayne is definitely the lowlight of the song, especially when he talks about where he cums and stuff, BUT the verse isn't bad enough to ruin the song, and Bobby V not only saves the song, but turns it into one of the best tracks with the chorus alone.
