I think 'The Fame + The Fame Monster' would have sold somewhere at 25-30 million copies.
And ''Born This Way'' somewhere at 10-15 million copies.
But I really don't know, without the digital era, we wouldn't have twitter, facebook, youtube and that massive promo that the internet is so not that many people would have known about her because she is so big in the online world and I couldn't imagine her without all the online press, music videos, criticism and all thing that happend online and get people interested in her and makes them buy her music.

Good point. Gaga without media and Internet wouldn't be that much popular and succeful. And she's wouldn't have sold much records ( Even if the album sales predition was right) . Because the singles sales weren't that strong.

Madonna and Britney were huge already when they started making music that was ahead of their time. Britney's first two albums were not ahead but were pretty similar to many other pop girls music at that time. But yes, I believe that if she had released The Fame/TFM before the Digital age it would not have fared so well with the public because the public was really not into as much electronic music as in Europe. And like Dr.Cake said the Internet was a big help to the success of TF and Gaga as a whole.

Why are people calling Lady Gaga the Queen of Pop? That is ridiculous.

1. She's in her 20's.
2. She's only had 2 albums.
3. You can't consider her an Icon when she hasn't done anything Iconic.
4. She's been popular for how many years?

I like her but she is not the Queen of Pop.

Both Madonna and Janet are icons. That's all I'll say.

It's crazy how she's already done many iconic things now and probably will be seen as a pop icon a few years down the line. Gaga has seriously come a long way. I love that! She continuously proves people wrong.

Oh, now I get it. And I agree. Gaga started her career with full Dance-Pop music and if it was released before digital era . I don't think that public would be into her music that much during that time. Since Britney and Madonna became famous and succeful with a type of music that is related to their time. So they had success with a new type of music because they were already so popular.
