lol the fame monster i love how people like OP try to start fights between Katy Cats and Monsters and then they justify the monsters winning by "oh there's more monsters..."
Bad Romance and Telephone music video release were huge events in pop. Lady Gaga crashed websites with these videos. Alejandro, even though the video didn't live up to expectations, destroyed websites (& stone Xtina's thunder). Katy's videos were also huge but not as big as Gaga's although TGIF came close because of Rebecca Black's help.
Plus add the fact that TFM's sales is as big as the sales of a her new STUDIO album.
Anyone who says Teenage Dream is out of their mind. All that era has going for it is its hit singles. And the singles flopped in the sense that they didn't do their job.
Singles aren't supposed to be put out to see if they can make it to the top of the Hot 100. They're supposed to PROMOTE YOUR ALBUM, and they failed horribly in that respect. TD has been out for over a year and Gaga's BTW has already outsold it.
Gaga's album sold better, her singles were successful and did their job of promoting the album, it was a critics' and awards' darling, and it spawned a hugely successful tour. Obviously TFM was bigger.
I love TFM over TD. By a freaking landslide. But the question is: which era is more succesful. If it was up to me, I'd say TFM, but TD is obviously more succesful for some reason I don't know. But TFM is better than TD tho, TD is just more succesful.
And with "Part Of Me" being yet another number one from the "Teenage Dream" era,
I wonder if members still find it less successful than "The Fame Monster" era.
Teenage Dream. She's been promoting this thing for 2 years now. TFM lasted a half year. Sure, the impact of TFM's singles may have surpassed that of TD's, but 6 #1 singles and another top 3 single, on top of a successful world tour, is greater than any of TFM's accomplishments.
Also, anyone who can say they tied a Michael Jackson record always wins in my book.
The one that changed the face of pop music.
The one that spawned a record-breaking world tour that grossed over $230,000,000.
The one that won three Grammy Awards.
I can't believe people are saying TD because of how many #1 singles it has. The CA. Dreams Tour didn't even gross half of half of The Monster Ball.
