What do you mean "what we thought Talk That Talk was going to be like"? It's arguably her most urban album to date.

I dont think any of us do, i want her to create her best album to date to be honest, all tracks written/co-written by her with a new image, new sound that will help sell the album and i also want her trying to focus less on controversy for the era also

Guys, what about Talk Talk Talk is urban? When I think of her urban side, I think Hard, Wait Your Turn, G4L. Now that is urban. The most urban thing on TTT is Red Lipstick or Watch n' Learn. Stuff like RMO, DYT, TTT have potential to cross over, but their base is pop.

Her discography isn't extremely urban, but TTT is one of the more urban releases it has to offer.

I think "Where Have You Been" will be last single from "Talk That Talk" (ever if WHYB smash like WFL, nothing can save TTT now). Finally she will take a break! By the end of the year she will won many awards (VMA's EMA's AMA's e.t.c.) And then finally she is coming back (summer) 2013 to destroys other pop gurls. She will get her 1st #1 album with her new label RocNation.
Amen

I'm getting tired of the random 2-3 dance songs being tacked onto her albums just to ensure that Europe will support.

TTT is pretty urban, though. BC alone is more urban than anything on Loud.
|
I disagree. Birthday Cake is a pop song. You honestly think it more urban than Man Down?

Man Down isn't even that urban, it's more reggae than anything. You could argue that reggae is simply a sub-genre of urban music, but that's hard to make a case for when you're trying to claim that Birthday Cake isn't urban.

Don't you remember the early rumors that said Talk That Talk was almost all urban songs?

A good 1/2 of the album draws traces to urban music, even if it isn't completely urban-invested. None of her discography is, though. Her music is always pop with some sort of exterior influence.

!!! When I heard WFL I thought she'd finally take the dance direction but nope that was only the obvious smash to get people buy the album in europe If she did a full dance album it would destroy EVERYTHING not only in Europe, even the US would eat it up. I really hope that's what she's doing on the next album, she could work with different house producers and make a perfect dance record. It won't probably happen but I can dream

Man Down is one of her most urban songs ever. Yes, it is very reggae but it has more elements of urban than Birthday Cake, the minute version. I am talking the original here. I don't listen to the version with Brown.

Traces. Just traces.
Hard, Wait Your Turn, G4L, and Man Down are more urban than any track on Talk That Talk will ever be.

No they are urban with influences of the genres you listed. I could see Man Down being called a reggae song, but WYT and G4L's main genre is not dubstep.
