John Carter's marketing was mishandled from the get go. I can only hope word-of-mouth can save it from becoming an under performing disappointment for Disney...
Yes, the marketing was a mess from start, and I don't think word-of-mouth will save it..... reviews seem lukewarm.
At this point, i would be happy if John Carter would atleast reach 200 million in US and would be at the top ten highest grossing films of 2012 domestically. I'm not here for a flop.
The highly anticipated the Hunger Games would gross atleast 250 million in the US. Prepare for the Jennifer Lawrence slayage.
I think I read somewhere they think it's budget was actually closer to $275 mill. and something along the lines of $100 million in promo/marketing. (not sure if that's accurate though, seems a little high.)
