Well obviously pop stars depend on hits in addition to fanbase, but if Rihanna had a "4"-type album with no pop hits then I doubt she'd pass 2-3m WW.

Likewise, If Bey had a WFL-sized hit on her album she'd probably cross 2m in the US alone.

And we are to take a single persons opinion into play? Rated R had barely any hits. Rude Boy did its thang,but RR,Hard,Te Amo,Rockstar 101 all pretty much performed poorly. It still sold 3+million WW. Hmmm such explanations.

buT it's more than 50%. it means artists need to make music to convince no fans to buy their stuff. And no fans only buy their stuff IF they think the music is good
