It should've been:
HIAM, TTWE, IWG, BFB, Up N' Down and either IO or DDB. I don't think people wanted to hear a "Criminal" kind've song from Britney, hell He About to Lose Me would've been better fit.

Can some Britney stan explain to me why she didn't have many #1s and Top 10s during the BOMT era - ITZ era? It still boggles my mind why she lacks Top 10 hits. I heard it was about the radio.

I never understood why OIDIA and Crazy never went #1.
But Britney was banned on radio from the Britney era - halfway through the ITZ era....that's why her charting in the U.S. was so jacked up. That's also why all her singles passed Me Against the Music have all performed extremely well.

I remember always hearing EVERY Britney song from BOMT-OIDIA era on the radio. I would've thought most of them were #1s, but when I found out most of them didn't even go top 20 or 10.

Yeah the radio ban was only on ClearChannel radio stations, so if your station wasn't ClearChannel, or if it was locally owned - they still played Britney's music. Clear Channel owns most of U.S. radio stations, so the ban really hurt her singles.
When the Dream Within A Dream tour was getting put together, ClearChannel wanted to sponsor it but Britney already had her endorsement deal with Pepsi (who also wanted to sponsor the tour) so Jive chose Pepsi.
ClearChannel got pissed and blocked Britney on all their radio stations.
And back then, without digital sales/streaming/internet - not having airplay really hurt.

She missed out on top ten singles in the earlier years because Jive didn't make her CD singles widely available, that way people would buy the albums instead.
