Do you guys think Stronger is generic? On first listen it does sound generic but honestly, the production is top notch, the lyrics are great and clever and her vocals are ****ing amazing (hearing the Glee cover made me appreciate them more). I keep seeing people call it generic but I honestly don't think it is and its obviously striking a chord with people.

It follows the standard Kelly formula. That's the only sense in which it's generic. If it were as generic as people were claiming, it wouldn't be smashing. Kelly doesn't stand out as a pop artist enough for her to pull off generic songs.

no it is not generic it is a SMASH, the lyrics, the production and the beat is very timely and current. Kelly should sing songs that are more of this genre something dance and upbeat yet with touch of rock.

The only way its generic is because pop has been dominated by electro-pop for the last couple of years & the song has an element of electro influence. And being an anthem, kelly's known for them so its easy for one to write it off as "another Kelly song"

Other than that, the success has already spoken. Wonder what other pop vocalist could hit that golden note
