tbqh, Glee hasn't really done anything chart-wise for the past two weeks. Bad sign for them, good sign for the top 10.
I kinda do want them to have some kind of effect this week though, i liked Glee screwing up the charts every so often. .And this is their last chance before their huge break.
Glee doesn't perform well now unless they take another 2-3 week break between the episodes or they do a really unique cover like RHI/SLY. After hearing the covers this week, they will be lucky if they make top 20...
I agree with most other people. I like the mash-ups better. It seems like they put more effort in. Some of their covers are almost identical to the originals, which I always find annoying. The first Glee song I loved was Halo/Walking on Sunshine. It made me realize that Halo could've actually sounded a lot better if it was sped up (imo).
A few of their covers have been good though. I liked their version of Toxic, since they did a different arrangement of it to the original.
I think all those songs that we say sound similar (for example Turn Me On and Only Girl), Glee should mash-up those. I reckon they'd sell a lot. A mash-up of Love the Way You Lie and Airplanes would've sold BUCKETLOADS in 2010 I think. They missed an opportunity there.
