I'm sorry, I understand where you're all coming from, but I want Gaga to be happy with whatever she chooses to do. If that happens to be DIRECTING her own videos or PRODUCING her own music then so be it. If I end up not liking the music then I'll let it be known and stop buying the music. Well yes that's her dream, but she's already fulfilled that. Like I was saying, if she wants to be an underground artist then she'll be one. If she wants to stay mainstream then I think she should revamp what she's been doing to appeal to the masses. I'm not against your train of thought, i'm just saying i'd rather her go with what she feels is best for her.

Gaga wants to be in control of her career, which I respect. I think she is musically on point (with the exception that she needs a few sure-fire hits on each album to ensure it is a massive success), but her artistic direction needs reigned in. By all means, give her the control she wants, but she needs to surround herself with people who know where the limit is. She cannot function as a long-term popstar if she has a team of yes-men who worship everything she does. She needs someone who will question how when she is going too far, and who will push her to achieve her full potential.

I would defend Gaga to the death regardless. She has been such an important figure in my life and I would be completely different without her.

Exactly. Lady Gaga is such a huge draw. Her music has become secondary to her character. It helped her to get where she is, but the reason she is so successful and so much more important to the music industry than big-sellers like Adele and chart-toppers like Rihanna and Katy is because she is so fascinating. Without the music, she is still captivating. Even though she went to the VMAs in 2010 and didn't perform, it still drew record ratings.
