People who are ignorant about disabilities don't seem to realize that deafness doesn't always mean being 100%, profoundly deaf. I mean, hearing aids wouldn't exist if that was the only level of deafness that existed. Same with being blind, some people still have a bit of sight, only that they're visually impaired enough to be considered legally blind.
