Now, I get that God didn't want us all to be robots, but if he's going to give us the chance to do what we want, why even let that happen, if all he's going to do afterwards (after attempts to save us, I guess?) is punish us?
The free will thing is just a mystery.
I guess... he loves us so much he's going to send us to Hell.

So nothing caused god and that's fine. But something must have caused the Big Bang? Just wanted to see if I could wrap my head around that inconsistency

He is responsible for the bad as well as the good. And God created Lucifer, so ch

This is how I see God. I don't see God as a big old man with a beard living on a cloud, but I see God as the good. I don't believe in hell and all that trash. I think that's just a story that was told in the past to scare people off so they wouldn't misbehave.

So you believe in Lucifer's existence but don't believe in God's? How very ironic and contradictory.

But if science explains everything, why can't it explain that?

Oh, don't even start on that ********.
I didn't say I believe in Lucifer, did I? I'm playing along with this, to try and understand what you're thinking.
If humanity invented evil, why does Lucifer apparently predate humanity?

There's a slight difference. They're saying God is miraculous, and therefore he can just always exist. This explains how God was able to create the universe.
You guys are saying miracles like that cannot happen, therefore there must be a cause to everything. Therefore, something had to have caused the universe.

Basically...
and I doubt these kids even researched or fully understand what they're worshiping.
Thousands of years before Jesus, there were these same mystical figures.
Some also born to a virgin on December 25, Killed, and resurrected...
Some also had the powers to raise the dead, perform miracles, were carpenters, etc...

I love how you guys are adamant to know what caused the Big bang or the universe, yet you don't attempt to justify the questions of who or what created your so-called god.

Exactly. My faith is falling down now.

Inconsistency? Belief plays a large role in religion, and I'm not denying that. Science on the other hand is supposed to have an explanation for everything.
It's you who has the explaining to do, not me

If any miracle does happen, I don't believe God caused it.
Just like I don't believe any weather, rain or shine or snow, is caused by God. Some things happen.
And obviously, no research is ever really finished. Of course, people are going to try and find out how the "very hot, small dense" thing that was the start of the universe came into existence.

I believe that God exists, along with the Big Bang. As Biblio pointed out, something must have caused the explosion, and I don't think that the small universe that existed at first came out of nothing. With God, it's the whole concept that he always existed, so it's different.

God didn't come into existence. God IS existence.
Meanwhile we KNOW how old the Universe is, but have no explanation as to what caused it
