Taylor Swift is the bright and shiny songwriter Barbie. So cute, so happy that even when she’s sad, we know if we watch long enough, she’ll vent her spleen and a rainbow with a unicorn sliding down it will appear.
|
I feel like so much of the media and general public confuse Taylor with her character from Valentine's Day.
Everyone percieves her as the upbeat Love Story, You Belong With Me girl, when I think in truth the sadder songs such as Dear John, Fifteen, Never Grow Up, A Place in this World are far more revealing as to what Taylor's truly like. At the very least, people only really see the happy, lovestruck aspect of her when there's so much more to her than that.
On an unrelated note, it seems like a lot of reviews for Safe & Sound spend more time talking about what a strange, unlikely pairing it is than they do talking about the song itself. The media must be slipping; it's been well-known for several months that Taylor's a huge fan of the Civil Wars.

I'm buying it even though I'll look like a damn fool in my college bookstore buying ****ing Vogue.
Only for Taylor would I do such a thing.
It will go along nicely with whichever one of her Rolling Stone covers I have; I think it's pre-Speak Now, but it may be pre-Fearless.

I am!
Planning to renew my subscription. But I'm afraid they will put the same boring people for some covers like what they've done the last few years (Hi, Blake Lively!).

As of right now, Taylor is the youngest person to ever write and/ or release a 5x platinum single; she would have been 18(?) when she wrote it.
Miley Cyrus' Party in the USA is only half a million away from 5x platinum, so she'll snatch Taylor's title of youngest person to ever reach 5x platinum. HOWEVER, Miley doesn't have a writing credit on the song, so Taylor will remain the youngest person to have WRITTEN a 5x platinum song.

Well, now they're seeing the light.
I'm happy with the great responses from the left-field. Not expecting this at all.

It's so hard to believe Taylor was my age when Fearless was released.
I feel so inadequate in comparison.
She wins Grammys some legends have never touched, sells 5 million copies of a song she wrote in 20 minutes on the bathroom floor, launches herself to superstardom...
And I do nothing.

Ew. Blake Lively. She reminds me of this popular female wrestler in WWE. Her name is Kelly Kelly. They're pretty much the same; blonde, tan and only there for her looks. And she gets all the promotional and appearance on talks shows instead of the other more deserved female wrestlers. I know its right random and all, but it always seems like that in every business. The pretty blonde gets the attention more. I prefer Leighton Meester over Blake Lively anyday.

I feel the same way too. I never got a Vogue magazine before. But if someone says something, I'm going to say I'm a proud Taylor Swift fan and if you got a problem with it, too bad.

Oh no, I was just going to post it.
I didn't get a chance to read it. But I saw it. She kinda looks scary in that picture tho.
I never knew her feet were that big.

wasn't talking about the picture, was talkiabout the article. I don't think her feet are big, I think I've heard/read somewhere she wears a 8.5? kinda small for a 5-11 person. Not that feet even matter lol, don't know why anyone would even mention them in relation to the article.

Blake was one of many reasons why I didn't renew it. My sister was a lil bit furious that I canceled without asking her tho. And Blair Waldorf all the way! Besides, Blake was over-hyped as hell.
On more important note, I learned that fame*****s are everywhere, even in wrestling world too via a Taylor Swift thread.

I think its the shoes that make her feet look longer. Idk, I just saw them and was surpised.
Yes, Blair Walforf is the best.
And I know right? All of things, in a Taylor Swift thread. But I couldn't help but be remembered by it.

LOL @ Taylor's infamous novel being written because there was a shark in the water.
I think she's said in the past that she'd never publish/ share it though.

Taylor's song Superstar.
I always used to think it was about Mayer or Jonas, but I've heard that there's a rare version of the song with alternate lyrics saying the person the song is about is from Arkansas.
Kris Kristofferson is from Arkansas. Obviously if the song was about him, it wouldn't be intended in a romantic way. There aren't really many superstars from Arkansas who are in Taylor's age range though, and she seems to really love Kristofferson... Unless the song isn't actually about a guy from Arkansas.
|
OMG! I didn't know who Kris was until I looked him up. He's 75 years old? So I doubt it.
The songs on the Platinum Edition of "Fearless" I think were snubbed. At least one of them deserved to be a single at least. But Oh well.
But I always wondered who the song was about. Maybe she had a crush on some famous guy? but I remember listening to it at first; and didn't like it. But I remember putting it in my iPod and while I was listening, I heard the song through my dream and that's where I started to like the song. But it remains one of my most favorite songs off the album. It's so flawless. I could kinda relate to it.

I learned two things tonight, one was about fame*****s, second was, there's a wrestled called "Kelly Kelly". Way too cute as a stage name for wrestler.
