If Katy's record label actually sent the acoustic version to radio, it would probably sell quite a lot (and combined maybe get to #1).

But if they have an acousitc version on iTunes, and do nothing to promote it except a tiny advert on iTunes and a couple of tweets, it'll sell practically nothing. They should send it to radio. One of the reasons Mariah Carey has so many #1s (along with having good songs and being a good singer) is because she made different versions of all her songs (like a dance remix, a rap remix, etc.) and they'd all get sent to the various different genre radio stations.

Adele won't release her video until after the Grammys. By that time her AI will be so high that TMO won't be able to pass it, even with bigger sales. That's why I didn't want the song to peak so quickly
