That doesn't mean anything, you want to talk about Rihanna (moreover, without breaks)?

So? She still sold more albums than the "album artist".
If Avril is really an "album artist" she would have easily outsold a "singles artist" even without any hits.
|
So what? She still needs one hit as lead single: Girlfriend was a hit, WYG an average hit: 6M copies cols of TBDT.

What must you run your mouth about Rihanna now? She's irrelevant to this thread.
Avril's problem is her image. Until she's ready to take it up a notch and grow up as an artist, image-wise, the door is shut for her. She didn't use the gift of youth from God to her advantage. Being late 20s and still looking that pretty deserves some groundbreaking pop materials. Instead, she sticks to her old sound and image which is dated as hell. That "I can do whatever I like **** you I don't give a ****" is so "Let Go".

Critics and award shows don't use Avril, so I didn't think it was fair to include that as well, since Britney already trumps her in all the categories, but...
* Another Guinness World Record: Youngest Female Artist to Have Six of Her Albums Reach #1 on the Music Charts.
* Received the MTV Lifetime Achievement Award.
* Set to Receive the NRJ Lifetime Achievement Award.

She's featured in several promos for the show, so hopefully she makes an appearance.

If she is going to receive the NRJ lifetime achievement award that Madonna received, she needs to go to that NRJs ..... and I want a boost in sales in france because Femme Fatale is so close to turn Platinum there

The NRJ Music Awards are **** since some years though. The achivement award is just an award that they give when the artist come to the ceremony (and when the artist doesn't have nominations). This year, I'm sure they'll do the same thing with Shakira (or they will nominate Je l'Aime A Mourir as french song of the year because she comes).

It was sold out in Europe and Asia (including the upcoming dates) and made a lot in South America. FF sold the same as Goodbye Lullaby. Media Traffic has a history of underestimating Avril's sales and as for awards well I'll give you that but the only thing relavent Britney won was her 2 VMA's. They both underperformed and Avril did worse but I'm not here for your lies.
|
WTH outsold HIAM by 1.5 times? What in the name of all that is inflation are you talking about? Just how much are the Avril stans claiming she sold with WTH?
Avril had limited promotion WW? You do realize Britney had even less promo than Avril right? The first six months of release for Femme Fatale, Britney never stepped a foot outside of the US soil to promote her album. Why else would you think she flopped overseas? She didn't go overseas and promote like she did for Circus with the promo tour. Instead, her team waited till the European leg begun to film some pre-recorded interviews lasting only a few minutes. By then, they were entirely too late to save the album, but it did boost the sales for singles a tad bit.
But no! Goodbye Lullaby hasn't outsold FF since Femme Fatale's 4th or 5th week on the charts. The same that goes for Avril in not all countries numbers being recognized by Mediatraffic, the same applies to Britney as well. Femme Fatale Tour prices were expensive as hell and the boxscores reflected that, yet Brit was able to manage a measly 70 million grossed from that tour.
I mean, it's not that serious to get all worked up about. Both albums underperformed and were released in the deadliest quarter for music sales. It was to be expected if one didn't put the work behind promoting them. But this is about the truth here, FF produced over 10 million records sold this past year. I highly doubt Goodbye Lullaby could claim the same.

It's her 4th after 4 years break and it hurted her career so badly. No doubt that Brit had more success in 2011 but it's just not fair when you used this thing to against Avril.

Only Phil Collins, Madonna, and U2 receive the NRJ Award of Honor for the Career that she's going to receive. You tried.
