I firmly believe this is the reason why she doesn't sing rock, singer-songwriter and electro-dance music as effectively as she sings other genre's. Beyonce's voice has a very dark, heavy, dramatic tone about it and that's why she excels in R and B music and it's variations but is unable to truly give an authentic rock style performance. Rock music tends to gravitate more towards lighter voices that have less weight to them same with breathy singer-song-writer kind of music and a lot of soft-pop, soft-rock. I also think that's more popular in dance music too.

I think you're highly confused on the sound of country music and their singers. CKB having the same melody as a country ballad doesn't make Rihanna's vocal deliver the same as that of a country musician. Adding fiddles doesn't change the fact that Rihanna's vocal delivery is that of a pop song.

No. Gaga does rock (soft or hard rock, tbh) and jazz much better then Beyonce. Gaga can scream and make it sound good- something Beyonce would sound foolish doing. Bey does urban/R&B songs better but they require a very similar vocal technique. That's not to say Gaga can't do that kind of music. Chillin' and Second Time Around are examples.

There are multiple subgenres of dance.. some that are more traditionally "dancey" than others.
