Gaga doesn't have entire the public in her hand - what artist can have mass appeal these days, but she's certainly given a voice to millions of the younger generation. Gaga was the completely wrong pop artist to come after.
What did Teenage Dream, Loud, or 4 have anything to do with the collective cultural voice? - A lot less than Born This Way did.
