Therefore, despite Lady G’s multi-million record sales and outlandish news-hitting antics, to be a true representation of our generation’s cultural voice she needs to embrace the changes the public are crying out for and provide a melody for their voice.

Gaga doesn't have entire the public in her hand - what artist can have mass appeal these days, but she's certainly given a voice to millions of the younger generation. Gaga was the completely wrong pop artist to come after.

What did Teenage Dream, Loud, or 4 have anything to do with the collective cultural voice? - A lot less than Born This Way did.

And the comments. People can't see past the absurdity that is the costumes, the name, the antics, which is a shame.

Is pretty sad that when people think Gaga they think "Costume". I hate that. It's only NOW after 3 almost 4 years that some people see that she does have talent. Even then, some people still resort to calling her out on her outfits. They do that because they feel like an artist has to be completely dull to be "real" or to make truly sentimental music. I mean look at Adele. She's no where near extravagant as Gaga, but she still pulls in those record sales.

Did you notice that on adult based sites that cater to Adult Contemporary music listeners Gaga is seen as like... A mimic of Bruce Springsteen with Madonna and she's noted as like trash. And on the younger ones She's like a copycat but she actually has some of the younger crowd backing her. It's very mixed for her. Then you look at Katy Perry and you see nothing but "This girl has real talent" "she's a cutie" "wow she's hot" "God will take her places" It's like when did Gaga and Katy switch places?

For everyone that read the article, don't you hate uppity older people who think that music is their day is so much superior to today's.

Granted most of it is but I hate when adults say in my day music had a message and music was saying something....like is there a redeeming value to Yellow Submarine or Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds, don't get me wrong it's great music but theyre not talking about ****.

This is really for any genre to be honest, like my dad talks about how much better Hip-Hop was back in the back yet it wasn't until the late 80s and early 90s where rappers began rapping about cultural issues.

I listen to Born This Way (album) daily from the day it came out !
its an amazing album its what gaga wanted to do!! and yeah iiy doesnt have ALOTS of songs that are radio or General public friendly !!and we knew that b4 it came out !
