When Britney was in her peak there was no competition for her. No other popstar was able to be as big as her not even Xtina. Now I feel like Gaga does have competition, she's not that far from Rihanna and Katy.
When Britney was at her peak both Eminem and Nsync were bigger.
Yes... but it's clearly a very different situation. The answer can never be clear; the stakes were different then (during Britney's peak) as the pop platform had a lot of hope and was on a growing tread uphill. Gaga came and revived certain elements of yesterday that were lost somewhere between the end of Britney's peak and the arrival of Gaga. It's just...hard to compare really.
Madonna, Britney and Gaga will remain pop royalty 4evah.
