Why don't we start a timeline or calendar which lists single/album releases as the year progresses.

If I didn't strongly believe in this suggestion, I wouldn't have re-posted it. It would be a good way to organize everyone's anticipation discussions into equal categories. The discussion could be divided within the year by Q1-Q4 and even further narrowed down by month, and there could be a separate section for TBA information. Users could add singles and albums to the list as long as a reliable source is provided. This way it'll still be easy for members to continue discovering new music first. Everything is so cluttered currently to the point where it's not easy to access some information that's harder to find.

I will say though that I always thought the album threads were messy because of all the nonsense and random **** posted there. I see that you're trying to solve the problem and also keep the forum clean, but it kinda seems like the problem's only being moved to Base. To be honest there should be a general Born This Way thread in Base for example, to make things easier to follow, but I guess the Lady Gaga thread is filling that purpose.

This sounds very clean, and a better way to do this than 'Base'.

I think the rule should be changed to allow an album thread to open when a title is announced. The months leading up to the album is the best part!

So until the month prior mark, we will have to search threads of artist for info about new albums, like tracklisting, producers, etc. until its a month mark. What happens when an album gets a last minute push back? What happens to the threads then?

These three Q&A's have me confused. Take for example I just opened a thread about Santigold giving her new album a name. I found it on Pitchfork, so it's definitely a music news headline. Yet now my thread title has been changed to make it look like it's an album anticipation thread, which was not my intent. Also, if Music News' purpose is to "inform and discuss" then wouldn't information about who someone is working with in the studio be considered newsworthy?

Just a few thoughts! Overall, I really like these changes. Once all these secondary questions get answered I think no one will have a problem with the new format

We're still playing with thread titles to see what looks best. But you posted it correctly as a news headline with a good source.

Collaborators are definitely newsworthy. The point of that question was to emphasize that a random, unconfirmed tweet is not enough to open a news thread. I'll edit that one a little to make it clearer.
