The moderator application wasn't based on where people belonged on the site.
The main goal was clearly get the people who are unbiased and determined, that's it.
No hatred was attached to the decision. It doesn't really matter if we had a Gaga stan as a moderator, we will still not benefit anything to be quite honest - it's still his/her responsible to punish anyone who isn't following the rules correctly.
