Regardless, I don't think Interscope was ever planning to sweep MTN under the rug. It was given the full-fledged single treatment, and it did what it did. There's no real place of cover in this situation, and that's okay. I so anticipate their and Gaga's next move to promote BTW.

All this fuzz for an underperforming single that is included in a very successful album! The album has sold 5.5million copies wordlwide and still selling each week worldwide a fair amount... Why wrap it up? Why you also compare it with Rated R? It should be compared with Loud... It has MORE sales in 7 months of release and it is definitely gonna pass Loud's worldwide sold units. As for the usa it has already passed Loud in sales. Also it is the SECOND best selling album worldwide for this year. Not third. Third is for usa.

Well a single's goal is to promote the album in order to keep selling... I am not saying that MTN is a successful single but somehow ppl prefer to buy the album instead of the single. The album has seen a fair amount of increase in sales and it is partly cause of MTN. ATRLers are so obsessed with single success that they completely ignore that this album has surpassed in sales all the albums full of radio friendly singles except adele's album...
