I don't understand why so many people care for success. Why do we want another artist forced and thrown around by her record label?
She should do what she wants, even if that means releasing white noise. At least she maintains her artistic integrity. I will not stand for another forced Fame era with a plastic Gaga formed to the mould of 'weird popstar creating produced rubbish'. It just shouldn't happen but sadly people are far too driven for rubbish about the club that it is inevitable that Gaga will either stop recording or be forced to release '*****-house music'.
It is the precise reason I hate most popstars and why I love (even after such a roller-coaster ride) Gaga.
No one is saying GaGa is done. But she does need to re-invent her sound. She's become...too much. And HML, Scheise and Bloody Mary are some of the LEAST radio friendly songs on BTW. Just no.
Well it may be the LEAST radio friendly but it would be the re-invention of sound you're saying. Maybe she should use pop candy sound, fluff that is eaten by radios?

She's surely shaping up to be the biggest pop star since Madonna (Britney )
The thing is, iconic Gaga is the blonde popstar with the bangs and the stunning outfits. Not the teal artist with the huge mole and wearing weird outfits.
I'm here for her to continue the story she started with The Fame. The next part was The Fame: Monster. I am here for The Fame: Reprise.
I agree and thats what I want too, but she killed the momentum and turned off the public at the same time.
Had she kept on the heels of TF and TFM and developed the theme she started instead of changing it altogether, she would be in an entirely different place.
If she does it now, she loses her artistic integrity because it looks like she's backtracking to the more profitable and commercial material, thus shattering the illusion of "an artist".

Even artists like Madonna had to cave in every now and again to maintain popularity though
i never said it was deep, I said it's different and not appealing to people.
my point is that a pop song can't become a big hit without radio and what radio needs is a song with plain lines about sex or parties that are easy to understand and sing along to. just open the mediabase thread and look at all the songs that are in the top 20 right now
But how is it not appealing? It's an electro-pop song about partying.
The people have spoken. I knew this track wasn't gonna give Gaga the redemption she desires the moment I heard it. The song is catchy, but like most members here said, it's too heavy and very theatrical. The public definitely wants a song that's easy to process once the beat touches their ear drums. I hope Stefani has a plan B ready any moment now.

I mean is that so bad? Katy Perry abused the pop candy sound and pretty much smashed
Right. RITD is in the vein of I Will Survive, Believe, Irreplaceable and every other "you ****ed with my heart but I'm stronger than that" female anthem. It's very clearly defined.
This.
Meanwhile, Gaga talks about suicide, ****ing the stark (whatever that may be...), being a Queen, and eloping with a time of day, just during the first verse. Then she goes on about crying and leaving nothing on the streets. The second verse, she talks about sinning, being a loser, drinking whiskey, and kissing the bartender. In the bridge, she talks about skeleton guns, wedding bells, New York, tanning, turning on the car, making love, and love is the new denim.
The public isn't at all smart enough to decipher these metaphors.

She's put herself such in a bad position.
I can't even be sad for her.
She tried so hard to be more than just a basic popstar, and she got so far, but in the end it doesn't matter because she didn't know when to stop and took everything to such extremes. And now the only way she can stay relevant is to be the most basic of popstars and to go back to singing about dance floors, DJs and bad boys.
