I guess.. but it never occured to me. It never once stood out to me as a song that would perform well as a single. It's no fun at all and it's just too long and depressing.
It charted in several countries based on downloads following the album release, including the US. It's definitely a standout track on the album and single material (it wasn't originally supposed to be the lead single for no reason.) It's classic Gaga, it has a catchy hook, and her signature production.
Some of the Monsters on twitter are becoming VERY desperate for this single to smash, & it's getting sorta embarrassing. I think it's time to accept that MTN flopped.

We'll have to agree to disagree.. I think it's plain and forgettable. I also think every successful single of hers has been fun to dance to and listen to. This one isn't, imo.
Lady Gaga has said several times that “Marry The Night” is her favorite song off Born This Way — something evident by the fact that the single received an extremely personal 13-minute promotional video. Yet despite several high profile performances, Gaga’s jam just can’t seem to crack the upper reaches of the iTunes Top Songs chart.
One reason could be that this is the first time Lady Gaga has released five singles off one album, and, at this point, fans of the singer likely already own Born This Way as a whole. (Hence Gaga Daily hinting that monsters can buy the download for a friend if they already own the song themselves.)
It didn't flop. It definitely underperformed.

#6 peak on Billboard Hot 100 and radio is still playing it.

Anyway, Marry The Night flopped with class; it has a great video and got some decent airplay. It had some really great performances too and overall a lot of people were exposed to the song over the past year. I'm ready to see what is next.
