Clearly Beyoncé thinks of herself as a pop artist. Since IASF she's sent all of her CD merchandise out to retailers and told them to file it under pop.

She even went back and made iTunes put all of her albums under the pop genre.

Beyonce is a contemporary artist. By Popularity she is a POP artist and by "sound" she contemporary artist. She is not just an R&B or Pop artist. Hence why she is Queen of Pop!!!! Beyonce have the sound to also be consider the new Queen of "Hip Hip Soul" singing over hip hop tracks with her sing-rap formats.
