TBH It was better than a lot of her Circus performances. It was just bad compared to her previous one's so shocked people but no it's not as bad as the media made out.
I wish she had something else weared and not just some bra and panties. but i liked the performance. is defenily not her best but in comparison to some of her performance, is not her worst neither.
Ch, this is gonna sound delusional, but I really don't think it was THAT bad. At least not as bad as people make it out to be. She messed up a few times but it wasn't the end of the world. I've seen worse.
Basically. It wasn't great but I've seen some of her peers who shall remain nameless put on a worse performance than that. I don't think she was ready for a "comeback" performance at that time. It was MTV who hyped it up, not Britney herself.
That performance is still iconic and more known than some of the performances the other gurls have done. Iconic for the wrong reasons but still iconic none the less and eternally embedded in pop culture.
SO much better, but Britney's team sucks so - I'm not surprised that they dressed her poorly.

The back-up dancers trying their hardest to save it.
But seriously, the VMAs as a whole that year were terrible. The change in venue was an awful idea, and the way they chose to light everything and use those screens was TRASHY.
And another thing. WHO let her go on stage with that wig? She is Britney ****ing Spears her hair should be laid at all times. A black wig similar to the GM video would've slayed.

That's the thing. If you are good at something and is known for it and slip up once, the media will act as if it's the end of the world. I've seen horrible performances from others that no one makes a big deal about but as I said, I guess its all about the standard you set.

Yeah, it's a pretty infamous performance, but everybody remembers it. It's not that bad of a performance, but whenever I watch it, I feel horrible for MTV hyping it up and ****...she clearly wasn't all there. She looked lost and in another world.
