That interview was clearly used as promotion to gather sympathy sales. She was also dragged via twitter for pulling a stunt like that. Like I said earlier in the thread, she can have her team pre-approve questions prior to interviews to make sure questions about Chris are off limits.
She chooses to talk about it because she uses it as a crutch. Britney Spears as an example has been through far worse and you don't see her talking about her past every chance she gets to gain sympathy. She moved on with life rather than trying to gain from past incidents. There have been several interviews in which she discusses Chris. Never does she say "next question" or "I don't feel comfortable talking about that"

And who are YOU to say when she should have talked about the issue?? Do you honestly think it would have been possible for her to promote an album without discussing the issue in detail? She did the 20/20 interview so that she wouldn't have to address the issue in detail for every promo stop. Again, RR was her worst era so obviously the incident didn't work to her advantage so what would be the advantage in 'dwelling' on it now?
Oh and please Britney brought that **** on her own! Rihanna didn't beat herself. Saying that Rihanna can't talk about her own personal struggles is like saying Mariah can't talk about her breakdown, JHud can't talk about her tragic loss or Whitney can't talk about her drug use. These are ALL things that these celebrities have had to deal with and they get to speak on it as they please
