I don't get why people are so outraged. The most is always being done.
I don't think I would've included Bey in that though, tbh.

Britney made a big impact with her very first single - and then that was it, pretty much. She never made an effort to push boundaries, nor has she crafted music that was nearly as strong as Bey's music continues to become.
I haven't listened to BOMT and OOPS because there's been no incentive to. When I look back for old music to explore I read reviews and find the ones that were regarded as some of the best. I never see Britney's albums praised. It's always her singles. And a couple of highly acclaimed singles ("...Baby One More Time," "Toxic") isn't going to keep her iconic forever. At least in my opinion.

if Slave or Toxic isn't breaking boundaries then I don't know what is. But Brit has progressed in her music albums like ITZ, and Blackout show that. Of course circus was a step back but thats not bad.

Oh my. Scrolling through these pages, I see many Britney fans take those hyperbolic "Britney Is Pop Culture" MTV quotes quite literally.
Idk why Madonna and Britney are always lumped together. They're very different artists. Being blonde, sexual and singing pop songs is just what's at the surface level. They're different kinds of blondes, pushing different kinds of sexual buttons and singing different kinds of pop songs.

He's claiming HIAM inspired Madge & Rih to start using Dubstep in their songs. Did you even read his post?

There definitely are people using Britney's sound after she has used it. They even used her producers like Bloodshy and Avant after she made them notable with Toxic. To say Britney doesn't have any musical relevance is ridiculous. Hold It Against Me alone has already started Rihanna and Madonna using dubstep in the mainstream for their most recent singles. Toxic was a notable synth-pop production long before the dance craze set in. Blackout itself was also pretty different. Britney is definitely notable in terms of musical impact.

Why do I have the sinking feeling you could break down every Britney song and analyze is supposed impact
Britney's image has more weight on pop culture. Music wise, Britney's influence is not that great as her fans like to exaggerate. As I showed, Britney's Trouble was similar to Madonna's Get Together. Madonna's Confessions was in a dance league of its own, entirely different than what Britney was doing at the time. Britney does not create trends, her team hops onto them. Till the World Ends is a perfect example.

Britney has extremely iconic hits from her first 2 albums. BOMT, Sometimes, Oops, Stronger, Lucky etc....and beyonce?? and dont come with that sex symbol crap when Beyonce was shaking her butt against a wall on crazy in love and was practically naked on the Baby boy video
|
And none of those songs were hits except for BOMT.

Female pop stars would be marketed completely differently otherwise. Probably more like Adele, Skylar Grey, Sia, etc.
Even immediately after Britney got popular, Christina got promoted as like a more artistically credible and mature version of Britney, and Avril was getting promoted almost like an "anti-Britney".
If you think back to the early 00's it was quite obviously like that.
I wasn't alive during the time when Madonna was dominating the most, but I suspect it might've been a similar thing back then.

I will pretend you didn't put Nelly Furtado name under your "wouldn't exist if it wasn't for Britney" list...
Oh God... we found so much delusions in this hopeless place...

Jessie should replace Beyoncé's name with Katy Perry's name and then we wouldn't be having this meltdown...
I mean, really Jessie? Beyoncé? You are that uninformed?

I'm not even sure why stans brag about pop culture. Jersey Shore is also apart of pop culture.

The user I replied to is implying that the Britney stan said that HIAM is a dupstep song, which he wasn't.
