Born This Way: 6.626.000 (#6 year-end)
Judas: 2.089.000+
The Edge of Glory: 4.461.000 (#16 year-end)
You and I: 1.942.000
Marry The Night: 239.000 (still charting)
Interesting observation: Although E.T. outsold Born This Way for almost 2 million copies in the US, BTW was bigger worldwide. TEOG also outperformed LFN (which was more successful in the US) on the year-end chart.

Gaga is a bigger worldwide artist, I guess. TEOG could have been so much bigger, I reckon. 4.5 million isn't really that many points compared to what she is capable of.

Born This Way's total isn't that impressive, too. Way lower than Just Dance/Poker Face/Bad Romance and not even a million higher than Telephone/Alejandro. And Y&I missed the 2M mark.
The Edge Of Glory did more than well, considering it came out after Judas; it gave the era some of the momentum it had lost.

She's definitely bigger. I can't believe many Katy stans believe she is more successful.

Considering BTW's position, though, 6.6 million isn't too bad. It had zero longevity on radio airplay worldwide due to its explosive debut, and airplay is a major part of the UWC. Especially when you consider that it sold 3.3 million in the US and over 600k in the UK, it performed well.

Well, you're comparing a 1st and 3rd single with a 4th and 5th single.
California Gurls > Born This Way
Teenage Dream > Judas
Firework > The Edge Of Glory
E.T. > Y&I
Last Friday Night/The One That Got Away > Marry The Night

Airplay was a bitch, this era.
Not with TEOG, though.

Again, however, one must consider how many airplay points Katy earned from the US alone. I mean, obviously she outsold Gaga completely, but a lot of the difference in points is due to the fact that Katy managed huge and sustained airplay peaks in the US. Often there isn't a chance for Gaga to compete.

LFN and TEOG are comparable, since the albums had sold about the same when the songs peaked (not to mention LFN's discounts and remix ).
Anyway, I know Katy is more successful with singles, but the album sales make up for the difference. Gaga is obviously bigger in 2011.

TEOG gained a good amount of points before the album release and in the first few weeks of release. The remix thing is true, though. The Amazon deal is always cited when counting Gaga's album sales, while those remixes/discounts always have to be reminded.
It's still impressive how fast Born This Way outsold Teenage Dream despite the lack of huge hits. It defines the one who is considered more as a true artist and who as a hit-maker.
Katy's a desparate cheat though. Most of her #1s this year have been down to her putting out last minute heavily discounted remixes when it looked like the song wasn't going to be #1. I did used to be a fan during OOTB but the TD era has made me dislike her. She's really gotten hungry for success and those #1s.

She also has HUGE airplay. I'm fine with Gaga not getting really huge hits as long as album sales are consistent; I only want her to release more TEOGs (good radio peak, good longevity, good overall sales), obviously handled better (no rush releases and good videos), and fewer BTWs (amazing start and zero longevity) kind of hits.
MTN is #28 on UK ITunes. I remember Jessie J's debut single fell quite low during the Christmas period last year (it was out in November) but rose again and achieved its highest peak of #2 in January. Does Gaga have any major UK promo next month? I still have faith in it (#14 isn't a bad peak either though).
