But we all know Amazon is not as famous as iTunes, it could work partially. Anyway, the discount was the best decision.

Katy has a reason to discount and remix: she's trying to break MJ's record, and her song is already a hit with 100M+ AI.
What's the point of Gaga discounting? Forcing a song onto the public that they clearly don't care for? Even if it climbs on BB, so what? Having a "plan" for MTN is pointless. What they need is plan for her whole career.

As you said, radios are not supporting it. Since the song can't get more possible buyers from them, then why not trying with a discount? There's nothing wrong with it.
