I think the first thing she should do is really think about how she wants to present her image and be perceived by the GP. IMO she should opt for a total change of pace from BTW and do songs like OOC and Reloaded (but better, single-worthy, killer versions of those songs). Drastically changing her style is what she loves to do anyway, so it wouldn't feel disingenuous, and she needs to regain her cool factor. She's probably the only major white popstar who can pull off those types of songs, so she'd be playing to her strengths and it wouldn't feel forced, as long as she doesn't go too far.
Katy is cute and everyone finds her likable, but she's not really cool. Pink cotton candy isn't cool. Same for Britney. No one takes Ke$ha seriously. Rihanna is the cool one. But a white girl who is cool and appeals to everyone and smashes every radio format holds infinitely more power than her black counterpart. Call it racist, but it's the truth
