I read a lot of it for a humanities course I took freshman year of college that essentially chronicled the history of Western thought, art and literature. I still can't believe that people take this **** to literally be true. If you want to use it as a moral guide to life, then good for you (though I think that we, as a modern society, have progressed so far beyond many of its ideas). But as a history of the world? I'm sorry, that just makes me cringe.

I would hope so, because the Bible says a lot of ****ed up things and God is a really big sadistic asshole in the Old Testament.

I think people should follow more Jesus' moral guidance in the new testament. I ike the 2nd part of the bible.

The old testament is kinda blunt. I haven't read much of it of course I know the common stories. Genesis, Exodus, etc...

I do! Though, I haven't read it as much as I once did, but that's all going to change now. I just downloaded an iTunes app for the bible and will start to reconnect with it once again.

Definitely. But as a piece of literature, the Old Testament's got some great value. Some of those stories are crazy! Analyzing God as a character in the Book of Job was one of the most interesting discussions I had in that class.
