The hate needs to continue. All popstars go through it. Madonna, Britney, and just everyone got their fair share of hate. It is like 'growing up' in the industry. If Gaga proves to be as big as she is, none of this will matter. 10 years from now some new chick is going to show up wearing a meat dress or wearing a muppet outfit. Most of you will be saying 'Gaga did that 10 years ago and she did it better. Long live the blah blah blah blah.' Anyway, popstars are going to receive a lot of hate. It means they're successful. Let it happen.

No joke. I'm trying the quotes where I said something similar to what you just wrote.
Past thoughts on this matter, dated in September of 2010,

I think her image is perhaps the most problematic and most genius thing about her, she is so strange that it fascinates but also bars people from getting close enough to where she will gain an affinity and a closeness with her fans. She may very well be incredibly entertaining, that's not my point. My point is that her construction has created an immense divide between people caring about HER as a person, instead of her as a construction. Lady Gaga seems to be more an idea/machination then it is a person.

The Lady Gaga moniker is a fad and it will get tiring and die out. I think it will be much more interesting to see how Stefani carries herself after the Gaga symboite runs it's course.

It's there in an incredibly abstract way "I am weird too/you understand that I am different" superficial way but when that wears off what happens to this Gaga connection? That's the problem with this monstrosity, it stops her fans from being able to see the real her, her true self, and how could they feel connected to something that they don't know, understand, or recognize? How can you connect to an artiface? It's all a trick.
This Gaga person has stopped people from being able to see the real her and thus there is no attachment to her outside of the Gaga moniker and after 'the Gaga' is done and has ran it's course, no one will care about the true person outside of this creation.

I don't really think of Gaga as a pop star really, so much as it seems she is this sort of monstrous creation, this sort of machine symbiote that Stefani has created in order to fuel her success. But Gaga isn't a person. She is in a lot of ways to me inhuman because she is so detached from everything. Gaga isn't a pop star in the way that Christina, Jessica and Britney were. She's an entirely different animal from them. And I think it's because of the Gaga veener that people don't find her to be relatable in my opinion because there is nothing there to relate to. She is a void that people can insert themselves into it seems. But all in all it's just an impersonal machine who probably doesn't really know (but has some vague idea about) the people who feed it.
I am sure the audience are fascinated with the idea of "the Gaga" but I truly don't feel that there is a true affinity or love for it. Because there is nothing there to love. It has no personality and no qualities for a person to really love. It's a fad quite simple and while she may ride the hype for now I doubt her success will continue. We have already seen signs of it slowing down with Alejandro in both video reception and radio success.
I do agree about kids wanting an "anti-icon" and Gaga being appointed it. She isn't beautiful, charismatic, or any of the things that one needs to be famous so people may love her just on that principal alone. She thrives because people are angry at the beautiful people.

Just today E! News asked if Madonna can succeed in "Gaga's world" and EW compared the new girl that everyone's raving about to Gaga. Legend or up-and-comer, everyone is somehow tied to her in the media and it has nothing to do with her stans.

Yes? No? Maybe?

She gets as much hate as the other BIG pop stars. She gets it less compared to the others tbh.

The moment when people started hating her wasn't when she started advocating for LGBT rights, creating a foundation, doing the album SHE wants to do, releasing and doing ART, improving her dance, giving us amazing vocals, etc and another tons of good. IT IS WHEN SHE STOPPED DOING THE THINGS YOU WANT HER TO DO. Look at your comments. Didn't she stopped being your favorite popstar? Does it bug you that she has changed in a good way and empowered herself to a point of not giving a **** and it will not change for the rest of this era? I think you all should suck your middle fingers and stop being such ***s. You're annoying, and sure you hell can voice your opinion, so I am doing the same.

I agree with this. Plus, this is no surprise. EVERY popstar has passed through this kind of situation.

How do you think Kanye West stayed around so long? He's had so many PR failures people but people embrace him because he always comes back better than before. GaGa doesn't have the same luxury, because, as I said before, Lady GaGa isn't a person. Stefani Germonatta is. Once the layers of who Lady GaGa actually is wore off, people started to lose interest. It's no coincidence that when she started doing a lot more interviews people were turned off.
|
But those layers haven't wore off..

This thread is created every two weeks honestly.
Everyone sees this as a very vulnerable spot in Gaga's career as the Born this Way era as well as her current single "Marry the Night", have been both drastically under performing when compared to any of her previous eras or singles respectively. I mean even the categorized flop "Judas" has performed better than "Marry the Night" so far.

I think its because her albums totally contradict each other. It explains the huge popularity of TF and TFM singles vs BTW.
The Fame and The Fame Monster apparently have HUGE influence on the music industry. She changed pop music.
But in BTW, she actually tried putting meaning to her song, totally different then her previous songs. The songs have an older feel, and dont seem poppy at all. I liked her before, but now, her success in BTW is only because of her previous albums.

The Katy and Rihanna stans hate on her because they are not 30% as talented as GaGa
Britney stans hete on her because GaGa is now what Britney was 13 years ago. But, she dances, sings, writes her music, make better songs and puts on a better concert.
Madonna stans hate on her because she is not as big as GaGa now. GaGa dethroned her and they are jealous.
Ke$ha stans hate on ber because she is a GaGa wanabe.
Xtina stans hate on her because GaGa ruinned her career.
Beyonce stans don't hate on her. Because true talent sees true talent.
No lies were told.

You can't be serious.
If you know anything about how the Billboard Hot 100 is calculated weekly, then you would know that "Marry the Night" is obviously going to take a dip soon. With it's current position on iTunes and radio combined I would be surprised if it could hold at number 29 for next week. It needs some sort of promotion. If "Marry the Night" ever manages to reach the top 10, it will likely be in two months time or more.

I can't believe people seriously took this to heart. She said that to hype the album for her fans, THAT'S IT. Reading any deeper into it and you're going to find something that isn't there. I know people think her ego gets out of control but she would be even more delusional than people think she is to think she could back up those words. Until I see a source telling me she actually thought this, people can stop citing this stale ****.
