Really? I can't tell whether you're being sarcastic or serious
Anyway, i just feel that Mariah feels more homegrown as an artist, and despite the the fact that 90% of the American population think she's a mess, people still have a soft spot fo her, and check for the occasional single here & there.
She's like the loud, ****ty chick who always shows up at parties and embarasses herself, but somehow always gets an invite.
As for Madonna, there's just a clear disconnect between her & the younger generation. We respect her, but we don't know what to do with her + her music. It's all very foreign.

Fun fact: Madonna and Kylie's combined UK number ones come out to 10 times Mariah's.

Of course she's a not a touring act. Because people don't respect her the same way they do Madonna. I can't tell if you actually think that Mariah will have a better year than Madonna or if you're just trolling. Because I'm guessing it will take another "comeback" for her to outshine Madonna in 2012.

Oh nah, don't even trip son. I'm a causal fan myself but I still stand by what I said. It's obvious why she's working with Nicki Minaj. And my vote is still for Mariah.

Yup, she has been and will continue to do so. Mariah has never been a massive tour seller.
Mariah Carey > that other woman.

That's not what the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, NARAS and record buyers seem to agree.
Just saying.

Already aware of that "fun fact"
And why would I be on my way out? when did I imply I was leaving?
let's get into why I got you upset and then we'll go from there.

So what do you call Mariah working with Justin Bieber?
And did you forget Mariah worked with Nicki herself?
So what is Mariah trying to do?

Even as a Madonna stan, I completely understand this.
It's a double standard when it comes to Madge and the younger generation - When she released Hard Candy, it was her most identifiable album with the younger generation - but it didn't feel like a 'Madonna' album, it felt a bit too pushed and processed, if you know what I mean. Also it didn't sell that well.
And when Madonna doesn't make an album that's necessarily aimed at a younger generation, she sells well and is lauded by critics but people deem her as irrelevant because the music isn't "current" at the time.
I'd say Confessions (and arguably Music) were happy mediums at the time of release - sold well, identified with a younger generation with their respective sounds and gained critical acclaim. If her upcoming album was a Confessions 2.0 or Music 2.0 then I'd be pleased.
(Sorry for the gratuitous post!)

Oh wow how quick you change the way you type to "Oh nah don't even trip son" a mess. But doesn't every artist change things up to stay fresh? The artists you stan for has done things to stay "relevant"

I highly doubt it, I don't think the barbz would be here for the rest of the album tbh.

Mariah is still young and youthful, she didn't need to work with Nicki to gain interest in her music.
I have nothing to say about the J.B. nonsense because I was never for it, it was a cute little X-Mas song and that's about it.

Though it is a TAD bit different since this is Madonna's LEAD single in quite some time and it features "hip" acts like Nicki and MIA.....not some X-Mas song remake and a song from a failed remix album.
