I also hope we get some interesting new artists. And I'm hoping for some MALE artists to make it big, and who do something a little bit DIFFERENT to all the generic Taio Cruz, Flo Rida, Lady Gaga, LMFAO, David Guetta electropop club-banger stuff we've had to put up with this year. It's got so boring. I want to go back to how it was like in 2003-2007 with lots of different things going on.
About the first new #1 of 2012, Christina Aguilera is releasing a new song early next year, so perhaps that?
The thing is, it takes most songs a few months to climb to #1, so the first "new" #1 of 2012 could very well be in like April or May time. The only real way we'll get one earlier is if one of those massive artists which always debut at #1, like Eminem or Britney Spears release a new song.
