Welp! Gwen and Fergie haven't released albums since then (and Fergie made it huge with BEP's comeback), Nelly released an spanish album (?), Shakira is still big worldwide, Beyoncé's singles flopped but her album did decent and Avril & Christina... yeah they faded a little bit.
Those were the days lol
(I'm glad Britney is back on track tho )

Those times were funny. Like all the female pop artists would have to have Timbaland, will.i.am or Akon yell a random word in their songs occasionally so they'd get played on urban radio lol.
I guess it wasn't THAT different to now. Like Girlfriend by Avril Lavigne was the most viewed video on Youtube back then, and her fans were boasting about it all the time like Lady Gaga fans do about Bad Romance's views.
And Christina Aguilera, Destiny's Child and Mariah Carey used to release like 3 different remixes of all their songs to radio and get a lot of #1s. That still happens now lol.
Gwen Stefani used to do all the "fancy" music videos, and then her fans would say all the other pop stars kept copying her, which reminds me of Gaga's fans today. Although I still think 4 Minutes by Madonna copied Hollaback Girl by Gwen Stefani a little bit (as did London Bridge by Fergie).
And I missed how every song Timbaland made he would get taken to court for plagiarism. I felt a bit sorry for Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake, since they were the ones getting all his songs. Nothing like a good plagiarism scandel in pop music. lol
And everybody used to hate Fergie like everybody hates Katy Perry since she'd always go to #1 on iTunes.
Okay, I need to stop reminiscing now. lol. I hope some of those pop stars can become big again next year. Or we get some interesting new pop stars make it big. Madonna and Christina Aguilera are releasing new albums, so hopefully at least they can be successful. It's sad though, because a lot of them will flop like Avril Lavigne and Beyonce recently did, since they don't want to do electropop, which is the only way to be successful atm. It's been kind of boring this year tbh.
