So, in the spirit of DA QUEEN being in my country, here's my Meet & Greet experience in Lisbon, last Wednesday:
I waited a day because it was my sister's birthday and I wanted to let her shine by herself for a day - Check her picture:
Well, we went to Pavilhão Atlântico by 4:15PM (Lisbon time). It had been raining the whole day, and cince the backstage tour for the Meet & Greet group was the last, we waited for over 3 hours to get inside the arena (and while at that we took a pic with Marco da Silva).
There we got our credencials and did the tour with the amazing, cute and perfect Felicia Cullota. She's so adorable I can't even begin to describe. Pic:
After the pic I thanked her for being this HUGE part of Britney's life, and that I consider her to be VERY responsible for what and where Britney is right now. She said "aw, you're so cute" and hugged me.
About 20 minutes later Joya came and took us to a reserved area in fron of the stage, and said we should wait 30 minutes for her to come and get us back to the backstage. She came and gave some insight on how things would happen, and then Fe returned and talked about how we should try to act as cool as possible, so we wouldn't "scare" Britney. Told about how much they are like each other, and Britney is very reserved, as we all know, but she's too sweet. She kinda hinted us
not to ask for hugs, because... Well, we know everything about Britney, but she obviously doesn't know anything about us, so it could be hard for her to get that "intimate", and that's something that has to come naturally. She also mentioned how Britney asked her on how she should act when taking the pics with the fans, that she was afraid she would disappoint us, etc, and Fe told her "Brit, there's nothing you can do, they know you upside down and they love you, just be yourself".
So, they got us to line up. I was 11th or 12th in line, I really can't remember. By the time my sister entered the room in front of me, it's all a blur. She came back about to burst in tears of joy, as she and so many of us did later - and then it was my time. And there she was. It's a shock. Britney really is that girl next door - She could be your sister, she could be your girlfriend, she could be someone you see on the street and think "wow, what a beautiful girl". It became clear to me how she's this hot WOMAN when performing on stage, yet she still looks and sounds like a young girl when she's in front of you - And, at the same time, she's so INTIMIDATING. Her eyes scream how shy she is.
The feeling is incredible. She said the usual "hi, this is for you (handing me the tourbook)". I said my name, the guy screaming "PICTURE!" but as we were holding hands I said, even if I hadn't planned anything to say, "Just a sec, Britney, I'd just like to say how important you've been to me in the last 13 years and how thankful I am for your music". She said "aww, thank you", then we looked to the camera.
Then came the time I ignored what Fe said and, like my sister did, asked for a hug. She said "sure" with that beautiful US south accent, and I went to heaven. She hugged me for real, and that meant the WORLD to me.
After that, I left... And only then I realized that I didn't even remember the people that were inside the picture room with her - Later I heard Jason was there, Edan was there.... But I was completely hypnotized by Britney - You really cannot take her eyes of her when she's in front of you.
Up until the middle of the show, I was still in shock, and even with the picture, I still can't believe that actually happened. It was
the moment of my life, and Lord know how thankful blessed I am for having this opportunity.
Anywayz, tomorrow I'm traveling again - Going on a cruise, hence the reason me missing the Britney concert in São Paulo I was supposed to go - so I'm gonna stay a couple more weeks away from you, my friends. Can't wait to come back for the end of the year and all of your South American fellas experiences, though.
